We are Survivors!

We are Survivors!

As most of the East Coast has kicked it into survival mode, I couldn’t help but think this would be a great time to share the pictures from The Survival Race.  What an amazing event.  According to their website, the team over at The Survival Race has a great message:

The entire team of the Survival Race shares a core philosophy. Life should be lived! We believe that challenging ourselves will enhance our lives both physically and mentally.

When I saw the challenge come up at our very own Dorothy P. Flint 4-H Camp, I couldn’t help but email the camp girls.  The opportunity not only gave us another reason to hang out, but also raise money for the very special place where we became friends.

The day turned out to be a great success.  The weather was nice in the beginning of the day  (later on crazy winds came around, even lifting their tents up!  Reminds me of today!) and we all had our Dorothy’s Diva’s shirts ready to go.  There are a bunch of pictures coming up, so get ready for some laughs.  I can assure you, the whole experience was ton of fun.  I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Before the race started, we took a picture with Dorothy (way in the back there) in the Lodge.

Then it was time to get ready for the race. Here we are all ready to go, not sure what was to come up ahead. Special thanks to Andrea, who took all of the great pictures!

And we’re off! The first obstacle was to run down the Archery Pit and through a giant mud puddle. Wet feet from the start!

Here are some pics from throughout the course:

Laurie scaled the wall in an instant!
I promise you, this is Christine’s “I’m having a great time” face, even if it is out of focus!
Can’t go under it…can’t go over it…gotta go through it!
No fear! Tine rocked this wall!
Last one!  Am was resistant at first, but I assure you she made it through!
We finished!  And SURVIVED!!

This was such a great event.  It was well organized and we all had a blast.  I would recommend it to anyone who is active and on the lookout for a great time with your best friends.  SO thankful to have these girls in my life!

Till next time…keep on surviving!

xo,

Cynthia
